Founder, Financial Planner & Investment Advisor at Mabery Consulting Brief Professional Bio: Dawn Mabery Chestnut is a fee-only financial advisor helping passive buy and hold real estate investors align their financial strategies for long-term success. When did you obtain your CFP® designation? December 6, 2022 What inspired you to pursue a career in financial planning? My journey into finance began in a large family where resources were limited. This experience ignited my passion for teaching basic financial literacy, which naturally evolved into a desire to help others with their financial futures and led me to establish my own financial planning and investment management firm.Over time, I’ve noticed that real estate investors in my community often seek my expertise, forming the core of my client base. Alongside my husband, I have firsthand experience in both long-term leasing and short-term Airbnb rentals, allowing me to understand the challenges and opportunities in real estate. I’ve seen many individuals struggling with rental management, undervaluing properties, or inheriting assets without the knowledge to manage them effectively. I’m dedicated to helping first-time and inexperienced real estate investors align their financial strategies for long-term success. What does being part of AAAA mean to you? Being a part of AAAA means I can collaborate with financial professionals who look like me in effort to provide financial advice in my community and beyond. How are you making an impact in your community? I give back to my community by volunteering free educational financial information through several organizations including financial advisor associations, the free tax-prep program in underserved communities, and my alumnae association.
